Facilitators/Chaperone

Want to be a Facilitator/Chaperone?

Objectives for the Facilitators/Chaperones:

The objective of the camp for the facilitators/chaperones is to provide fun, communication and leadership training, increasing self-worth and social connections. The facilitators/chaperones are vital in the planning and implementation of Junior Camp.

During the pre-camp training program, Vancouver Island Regional 4-H Junior Camp Coordinators support the facilitators/chaperones through one on one and group initiatives.

The pre-camp is designed to provide; fun, skill development, team building, socializing, program creation and orientation for the facilitators/chaperones. The camp itself is where facilitators/chaperones can apply, expand and develop skills. The facilitators/chaperones will also increase their personal confidence and have a fun weekend with a group of younger campers who look up to them as positive mentors. In return, the younger campers will provide the facilitators/chaperones with growth through real life reactions and positive feedback. The facilitator/chaperone component of 4-H Junior Camp is a great personal empowerment camp and pre-camp where 4-H members learn to do by doing, benefiting both campers and facilitators.
